Under-18s: Fulham 4-1 Wanderers

A youthful Bolton under-18 side were beaten away at Fulham at the weekend.

After a positive start to the game, the hosts opened the scoring on the stroke of half time and then added to their tally immediately after the interval.

Fulham then added a third on 50 minutes, though Tom Youngs did reduce the deficit after finishing well from 20 yards.

The Baby Whites committed men forward in an attempt to fight their way back into the game, but Fulham held on and eventually scored their fourth in stoppage time.

Academy head coach David Lee said: “Today was a great learning curve for all the players, especially having eight first years starting the game. We also had two under-16s and two under-15s on the bench.

“Fulham have been the best team we have played this season. Now our benchmark has to be to match their standard.”
