Wanderers’ under-18 side saw off high-flying Southampton at the weekend thanks to a solitary Tom Youngs goal.
In what was a relatively even contest throughout, it David Lee and Tony Kelly’s side that nicked the decisive goal in the second period.
Youngs latched onto a Saul Hamer flick before dispatching beyond the onrushing goalkeeper.
Elliot Newby also impressed throughout on the flank, carving out a number of goal-scoring opportunities for his side.
Academy head coach Lee said: “In the second half we were by far the better team. Overall, it was a good, solid performance and we’re on a good run of form at the moment.”
