Dougie Freedman previews the weekend's trip to face Nottingham Forest
Dougie Freedman believes there is more to come from his side, as Wanderers prepare to face Nottingham Forest at the City Ground this weekend.
Bolton are so far undefeated in competitive action this season, but are still awaiting their first three-point haul in league football.
And speaking in his pre-match press conference Freedman, who as a player spent a brief time on loan with Nottingham Forest, said: “I’m happy with where we are in terms of performances and fitness levels. There’s certainly more to come from us and we feel we are growing into things at this moment.
“We’ve turned in three good performances so far. Yes, you can always get better, but within our performances I believe there have been some very encouraging signs.
“We’ve got a squad right now, that when everyone is fit, is capable of being in the top six.
“By my reckoning Nottingham Forest will be in the top four come the end of the season. They’ve spent a lot of money and brought in some very good players.
“Billy Davies is the kind of manager who will get the crowd going and we know it is going to be a very difficult game for us.
“If we can impose our game on them at certain times within the 90 minutes then I do believe we’ll be able to take something away from the game.”
The manager also admitted he was still actively exploring a number of options in the transfer market, including the possibility of loans.
He added: “We’re of course always looking. The loan market is open to us and I’m sure some interesting players will become available. I think that when that happens, we’ll get a steal on one or two clubs with players wanting to come here.”
