Manager on camera: Tranmere reaction

Dougie Freedman's post-match interview after the cup exit at Tranmere

Bolton were eliminated from the Capital One Cup at the second round stage on Tuesday evening, losing to Tranmere Rovers on penalty kicks.

Cole Stockton gave the hosts the lead in the final minute of the first half before subs Andre Moritz and Jermaine Beckford combined for Wanderers’ equaliser, with the latter prodding the ball beyond an onrushing goalkeeper to level the scores.

And despite seeing two Tom Eaves goals disallowed for offside and another cleared off the line, there was to be no further scoring, with Bolton eventually succumbing to penalty kicks.

After the game Dougie Freedman said his side’s decision making in the final third proved decisive in the outcome of the game. The manager also took time to comment on Tyrone Mears and Matt Mills’ performances at the back and the support of the travelling Bolton fans.
