Carol service success

Annual festive service held with over 1,200 in attendance

More than 1,200 people attended the club’s annual Christmas Carol Service which was held in the Premier Suite on Monday evening.

Those present were joined by a number of local primary schools and choirs, with club chairman Phil Gartside also attending the event which will be broadcast on 107.4 Tower FM on Christmas morning between 6am and 7am.

Pupils from schools such as The Oaks Hardy Mill, Walmsley C of E, Chorley New Road and St Gregory's RCP sang hymns and read poems, with the Bolton Junior Youth Choir and the Millenium Chapel Gospel Choir also featuring throughout the evening.

Speaking following the service, club chaplain Phil Mason admitted his delight at the turnout of supporters and paid tribute to the local youngsters who performed on the night.

“It was a great success and wonderful to see well over 1000 people fill the Premier Suite,” he said. “The children that performed were very talented indeed, and it has kicked Christmas off to a great start.”
