Chungy relishing left-wing role

"I am happy playing with Marcos, we have a good understanding of each other," says the Korean

Chung-Yong Lee revealed that he is relishing his new role on the left wing - something which was evident in the Whites’ 1-0 victory over Peterborough United.

The talismanic South Korean has played predominantly on the right flank throughout his Wanderers’ career, but admitted that he is enjoying forging a steady partnership with full-back Marcos Alonso.

“I used to play on the right but now I play on the left – it is not difficult for me to do, it is just the same job,” he said following Tuesday night’s win. “I think I actually feel more comfortable because I am able to come inside more.

“I am happy playing with Marcos - he has good technique and is powerful physically, so we have a good understanding of each other.”

The 24-year-old also revealed that match-winner Craig Dawson has more than settled into life at the Reebok having notched his third goal in two games against Darren Ferguson’s side.

“Craig is a very good defender, and he also scores a lot too so we are happy,” he explained.

“Now he is on loan, but hopefully he can stay - he is a very quiet person like me, but he is a very good man and a good player.”

Victory over Peterborough extended the Whites’ unbeaten run to five games and the winger is convinced that the team can add to that tally when they travel to Oakwell to face Barnsley this weekend.

“This was a big win, especially after Saturday. We had good confidence before this game – we need to keep going and keep a winning mentality.

“I felt we would not lose or draw in this game, only win. We are now tenth and there is a seven point gap to the play-offs. It won’t be easy, but we can do it.

“Saturday will be a difficult game, but the same as Peterborough we must keep together and we will win.”
