Davies resumes full training

Midfielder back involved with the first team squad at Euxton

Mark Davies has resumed full training with the first team squad.

The manager confirmed that the midfielder, who has been out of action since February with an anterior cruciate knee injury, is back involved on a daily basis with the first team squad at Euxton.

Davies’ next step is expected to be an appearance in an under-21 match over the course of the coming weeks.

“Mark Davies is good,” the manager explained. “He’s running around, which is obviously good news.

“He has trained the last three days out of four. He’s right in there and on track with what we had in mind.

“I reckon a couple more weeks of training with the team, then he could be a stage where he is ready to pop up and make an appearance for the under-21s.

“We’re very close, but we’re taking our time and making sure it is done right.

“I believe that at the turn of the year he’ll be a fantastic new player for us.”
