Eaves on target for Millers

Young striker helps Rotherham advance to the JPT semi-finals

The 21-year-old centre forward played a key part for the Yorkshire outfit as they saw off League Two outfit Hartlepool United by two goals to one to book a place in the semi-finals in the Northern Section of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.

Eaves scored the opening goal of the game at Victoria Park after just nine minutes as he diverted a close range header beyond Pools custodian Scott Flinders.

Rotherham United will return to League One action this weekend as they face Graham Westley’s Stevenage at the Lamex Stadium.

Meanwhile, Eaves’ Bolton team mate Cian Bolger, who is currently on loan at Colchester United, will be preparing to face Swindon Town at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.
