Hall: All coming together

Winger speaks following Wanderers' victory over Millwall

Rob Hall admitted his delight at notching his first league goal for the club in Wanderers’ 3-1 victory over Millwall and paid tribute to his teammates following the Whites’ first home win of the season.

The 20-year-old winger struck with just five minutes on the clock against the Lions, with Bolton overcoming an equaliser from Jermaine Easter to secure all three points at the Reebok Stadium.

Speaking following the final whistle, the youngster explained that although he was thrilled to find the back of the net, his main priority will always remain helping Bolton pick up victories.

"I don’t even remember the goal to be honest," he said. "I just remember Chungy cutting it back and I managed to get on the end of it.

"It wasn’t all about the finish though – the build up to it was the main thing because we’ve been working on that now for a very long time and today we scored three great goals.

"It’s all coming together and hopefully we can just keep on kicking on."

A dream come true for the West Ham United academy graduate, the youngster conceded that he couldn’t have wished for a more ironic opponent to open his account for Bolton against given his former side’s rivalry with the Lions.

"Obviously it was amazing to score my first goal at the Reebok, but especially with it being against Millwall was great because I always had a boyhood dream of scoring against them when I was at West Ham.

"It was great for me, but obviously three points is the main thing.

"I felt like we deserved to go one up – obviously it was a bit of a set-back when they got it back to 1-1, but we showed a lot of character to then push on and get two more goals.

"It’s a kick in the teeth when teams equalise and we don’t want that – we’ve had too many of those this season and we’re trying to cut them out.

"Slowly but surely we are, so hopefully we can keep kicking on and stop these little blips from coming up and stop conceding goals like that."

He added: "We deserved the win I think and the lads are buzzing at the moment, but we’re going to have this break, tick along for the next two weeks and then we’ll be ready to put our foot down."
