Mason thrilled with move

Striker speaks following his loan move from Cardiff City

Joe Mason admitted his delight at the completion of his loan deal with the club and revealed that the decision to make the move to the Reebok Stadium was a simple one.

The striker officially joined Wanderers on Wednesday from Premier League newcomers Cardiff City, with the youngster’s deal with the club set to run until January 5.

A highly rated prospect having notched six goals during the Bluebirds’ promotion winning campaign last year, Mason spoke exclusively to the official club website following confirmation of the move.

"I’m really happy," he said. "It took a while coming, but sometimes you’ve got to wait for things like this. I am delighted to be here finally.

"I can’t wait to get started – the boys have been on a really good run of late as well so that always helps when you’re coming into a new group, and the lads have been really good to me as well so that’s always nice.

"The manager was trying to sign me for quite a while which is always nice to know and Bolton are a big, big club, especially in this division, so it was a really easy decision for me."

Boasting a plethora of Championship experience after spending the past two years plying his trade in the second tier of English football, the Plymouth-born forward hopes that his familiarity with the league itself can benefit his new team during his stay in BL6.

"I’ve had quite a few seasons in this division now but I’m still quite young myself.

"I have got quite good experience of the Championship and I know a few things in terms of getting out of it too, so hopefully I can put that into my time here at Bolton."
