Danns: Privilege to be here

Neil Danns revealed his delight at joining Wanderers and has vowed to make his mark at the club.

The midfielder signed terms on a three-month loan deal yesterday and is in contention to make his debut in a Bolton shirt when Yeovil visit the Reebok on Saturday afternoon.

Speaking following the confirmation of the deal, Danns admitted that the chance to play for a club of Wanderers’ stature was too good to turn down.

“It’s a privilege joining such a big club and I’m just thankful to get the opportunity,” he said. “I’ve known the gaffer for a long time from my days at Crystal Palace and it’s just stemmed from there really.”

Having worked with the Bolton boss during his time at Selhurst Park, the 30-year-old admitted that he had high hopes for Freedman’s credentials as a manager from the outset.

“You could tell straight away that he was going to be a good manager. Obviously he’s learnt a lot since I’ve last been with him, so it will be nice to work with him again and take on board some of the stuff that he’s learned along the way which hopefully I can add to my game.

“My aim is just to do the best that I can for the duration of my stay and hopefully that can help the team push on.

“I know it hasn’t been the greatest start to the season in terms of our league position, so I’m hoping that I can add my strengths and help the team.”
