Opposition watch: Leeds

The low-down on Saturday's opponents from West Yorkshire

Bolton Wanderers and Leeds United meet for the 58th time this weekend, with little to choose between the two sides’ head-to-head record.

Down the years both sides have secured a total of 22 wins in the fixture, with 13 games between the two ending in a draw.

Leeds have so far made an encouraging start to the season, suffering just one defeat at the hands of early pacesetters QPR.

Manager Brian McDermott, appointed as Neil Warnock’s replacement towards the end of last season, strengthened significantly in the summer.

Luke Murphy and Scott Wootton both arrived for figures mooted in and around the £1million mark from Crewe and Manchester United respectively, whilst the experienced Noel Hunt was also recruited from McDermott’s old club Reading.

Leeds are expected to line-up with a flat back line, with a midfield diamond providing support for the two frontmen.

Ex-Bolton players El-Hadji Diouf and Stephen Warnock are both in contention to start for the Whites.
