U18s: Spurs 2-1 Bolton

Baby Whites suffer narrow defeat in North London

Wanderers' Under 18s slipped to a 2-1 defeat away at Tottenham Hotspur.

Harry Winks had opened the scoring for Spurs with Tom Walker responding for Bolton just before the break, but Will Miller’s second half strike ensured that the Baby Whites were to leave the game empty handed.

Following a bright start from the visitors, Tottenham proceeded to take the lead with 25 minutes on the clock through Winks – a goal which arguably came against the run of play.

Not to be deterred however, Wanderers were back on level terms shortly before half time through the ever threatening Walker who fired home from eight yards after good work on the left flank.

Having found themselves back in the game, it was to be Bolton who looked the more likely victors with a number of chances to snatch a winner, but their hard work was ultimately in vain as the hosts retook the lead through Miller.

As the clock ticked down, the team rallied in search of what would have been a deserved equaliser with Sam Bailey firing a shot against the crossbar from 20 yards out, but despite their determination it wasn’t to be as Spurs held out for the victory.

The Under 18s are next in action against Fulham at Lostock on Saturday morning, kick off 11am.
