Loan watch: Andy Kellett scores first senior goal

Defender scores spectacular solo goal as six BWFC loanees feature during latest round of Football League fixtures

Andy Kellett scored his first senior goal on Saturday, and it was one to remember, as Plymouth Argyle survived a late comeback to win 3-2 away at Northampton Town.

Receiving the ball out on the left-hand side, Kellett embarked on a mazy solo-run, dribbling his way through numerous Northampton challenges as he powered into the penalty area, before calmly finishing with the outside of his left foot to put the Pilgrims 2-0 ahead.

Kellett was one of six Wanderers loanees in action during the latest round of Football League fixtures.

In the Championship, Alex Baptiste picked up a booking before being replaced late on by Jason Lowe as Blackburn Rovers lost 3-1 away at Brentford.

Meanwhile in League One, Paddy Kenny and Tom Eaves went head-to-head as Oldham Athletic hosted Yeovil Town at Boundary Park.

Kenny completed 90 minutes but could do nothing about the result, while Eaves came on for the final 20 minutes, as Yeovil went away 4-0 winners.

Jermaine Beckford was also in action in the English third tier, starting upfront for Preston North End alongside former White Kevin Davies as the Lilywhites drew 1-1 at home to MK Dons.

In League Two, Joe Riley completed the full 90 minutes as Oxford United came from behind to secure a last-minute victory at home to Bury.
