A look ahead to the youngsters' league clash with Spurs

Wanderers’ under-21 side are next in action when they face a trip to Tottenham Hotspur on Monday afternoon.

Having conceded four goals against Manchester City in their last outing, the club’s youngsters will no doubt be looking to bounce back as they take to the road once more.

With the team set to come up against a Spurs side who have won just one of their last ten games however, the Whites will be hoping that the London outfit's barren spell continues when the sides clash on Monday dinnertime.

Spurs’ coach John McDermott has developed a reputation in recent years for bringing a number of notable names through the ranks, with stars such as Steven Caulker, Tom Carroll and Andros Townsend having all previously featured for the club’s second string before making the transition in the first team set-up.

With his side at present struggling for consistency in the U21 Barclays Premier League and entering the game on the back of two draws against their Everton and Blackburn Rovers counterparts, Monday’s meeting with the Whites will be one which they will be eager to emerge victorious in.

Although Wanderers have failed to pick up points against London based sides during the course of the season so far, the team’s fine form on their travels this season will certainly give them cause for optimism as they make the trip to the capital.

Bolton will however be without the services of striker Conor Wilkinson, with the frontman having joined League Two outfit Torquay United on Friday on a one month loan deal.

With Wanderers having proven that they are a team with an eye for goal with 25 strikes in their 14 league games so far, Tottenham’s youngsters will undoubtedly have to be on their guard to keep the Whites at bay come kick off.
