Beckford back training

Striker in contention to feature in this weekend's game away at Leeds

Dougie Freedman has confirmed that Jermaine Beckford has returned to training and should be available to face his former employers Leeds United this weekend.

The club’s top scorer has been sidelined with a hamstring injury since Wanderers’ 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest on January 11, but the manager confirmed that the striker could feature in Saturday's game at Elland Road.

“Jermaine Beckford should be back this weekend,” said Freedman in his pre-match press conference. “He’s been out training with us and running around, so he will be in the squad for Saturday.

“He’s definitely back in contention – he’s trained very well this week and we’re pleased to have him back.”

Supporters can still purchase tickets for this weekend’s game against Leeds United from Bolton Central until 2pm on Friday 7 March.
