Team news: Who's fit for Wigan visit?

Dougie Freedman offers an update on his squad ahead of the weekend's game against Wigan

Alex Baptiste is back in contention for the weekend’s home game against Lancashire neighbours Wigan Athletic at the Reebok Stadium.

The versatile defender has now served his one-game suspension following his straight red card at Yeovil Town last weekend.

Matt Mills once again continues to progress back to full fitness following a knee complaint and could feature, whilst Jermaine Beckford is also fully fit.

Stuart Holden and Joe Riley (both knee), Marc Tierney (foot) and Darren Pratley (shoulder) will all definitely miss out.

The manager also confirmed that loan recruit Andy Robinson will feature in the matchday squad.

“We’ll throw young Andy Robinson straight into the squad for the Wigan game,” Dougie Freedman confirmed at his pre-match press conference. “He’s certainly very capable and is a credit to Southampton’s youth academy.

“I’ve been taken aback somewhat by Andy’s approach to training. He’s very much up to speed.

“Everyone else is in good shape following the Blackpool game. Matt Mills is back with us and I think Jermaine Beckford has been showing signs he is getting fitter and stronger.

“Baptiste is also back in the squad, and he has worked very hard over the last week after missing out in Tuesday night.”

Tickets for the game against Wigan Athletic at the Reebok Stadium are still available for supporters to buy. Fans should visit Bolton Central in the run up to the 3pm kick off, doors open at 9am, or CLICK HERE to buy online.
