Bolton Wanderers backs #BidToRemember

Fans have the opportunity to bid on a signed, match-worn Bolton Wanderers poppy shirt

Sky Bet, the title sponsor of The Football League, have teamed up with Bolton Wanderers to give fans the opportunity to bid for a signed, match-worn poppy shirt in the #BidToRemember shirt auction.

All of the Bolton playing squad from Friday’s Wigan Athletic game will be donating their limited-edition poppy shirts, each signed personally by the player who wore it.

All the proceeds from the #BidToRemember auction will go directly to the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal, supporting the Armed Forces community, through welfare, comradeship and representation.

Sky Bet Head of Sponsorship Edwin Martin said: “This is a cause that resonates with everyone in the country, especially this year, the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of World War 1 in 1914.

“We know Football League club supporters to be hugely passionate people, who always throw their support behind the Poppy Appeal.

“At Sky Bet, we would like to thank Bolton Wanderers, who have agreed to do things differently this year, in recognition that together, we can make a bigger difference than ever before.”

The Royal British Legion Head of Corporate Partnerships Alexandra Caine said: “We are incredibly grateful to Sky Bet, and to all the Championship clubs, for their support in this year’s Poppy Appeal.

“The money raised from campaigns like #BidToRemember will help fund our projects nationwide for current and former servicemen and women, who put their lives on the line for their country.”

Signed poppy shirts from each of the other 23 Sky Bet Championship clubs will also be available in the auction.

All lots will be going live on Sky Bet’s eBay shop between Saturday November 8 and Monday November 10.
