Neil Lennon - Make home advantage count

Manager offers his thoughts ahead of Wanderers' home clash against Huddersfield Town

Neil Lennon has called for his players to take inspiration from their recent form on home soil when the Whites welcome Huddersfield Town to Macron Stadium on Saturday.

With three victories in as many outings at BL6 in the last month, Wanderers host the Terriers this weekend aiming to extend their unbeaten run to four games following wins over Cardiff and Wigan and a draw against Blackpool last time out.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, the manager stressed the importance of his side making home advantage count once more against Chris Powell’s men.

“It is important that we get back to winning ways on Saturday,” he said. “It won’t be easy though against a team that has also been invigorated by a new manager - Chris Powell is a good manager and he knows the division well.

“He did really good things at Charlton so it’s good to see him back in management, and Huddersfield is an excellent club.

“They have good people in the background as well, but our priority is to maintain our home form. The onus is on us to take the game to them and that is what we intend to do.

He continued: “We have to be consistent and avoid complacency. Every game from here on in is vital.

“If we win on Saturday, it puts us in a really respectable position that we can hopefully then build on, but if we lose then we’re back to almost being in the same position we were in when we came in.

“The league is so competitive and there are no guarantees - we have a little bit of the momentum at the moment and our home form has been decent since we came in, so it is important that we maintain that.”
