The forward was one of six Whites to feature for their respective loan sides during the latest round of fixtures

Jermaine Beckford scored twice for Preston North End on Tuesday night as they beat Notts County 3-1 to remain one point ahead of MK Dons in the League One automatic promotion hunt.

The forward opened the scoring for the Lilywhites with a clever finish midway through the first half, before Joe Garner doubled Preston’s lead after Beckford’s initial shot had been saved.

Jimmy Spencer halved the deficit in the second half before Beckford netted his second late on after combining well with Daniel Johnson to wrap up the points for North End, ending a run of three successive draws in the process.

Elsewhere in the division, Rob Hall completed 57 minutes for MK Dons before being replaced by Carl Baker as Karl Robinson’s side beat Doncaster Rovers 3-0 to keep their own automatic promotion hopes alive.

In the Championship, Jay Spearing completed 90 minutes for Blackburn Rovers as two late goals from Rudy Gestede and Jordan Rhodes saw them clinch a 2-0 victory over Millwall at Ewood Park.

Tom Eaves was also in action for Bury in League Two, replacing former White Joe Riley in the 79th minute as they lost 1-0 at home to Southend United.

Meanwhile in Israel, Medo Kamara completed 90 minutes for Maccabi Haifa on Monday – picking up a booking along the way – as they drew 0-0 at home to Maccabi Petah Tikva.

At Under-21 level, Andy Kellett completed 90 minutes for a Manchester United side that also included Robin Van Persie as they came from behind to draw 1-1 away at Leicester City.
