Loan watch: Quartet in action for respective clubs

Niall Maher, Jermaine Beckford, Rob Hall and Sanmi Odelusi all feature in latest round of Football League fixtures

Niall Maher completed 90 minutes for Blackpool on Saturday as they fell to a narrow 3-2 defeat away at Cardiff City, ensuring the Tangerines will finish the 2014/15 campaign without tasting victory on their travels.

With their relegation to League One already confirmed, Lee Clark’s side fell behind after former Wanderers loanee Joe Mason opened the scoring before Eoin Doyle doubled the Bluebirds’ lead from the penalty spot.

Andrea Orlandi halved the deficit just after the interval but a second Doyle penalty secured the points for Cardiff, despite Peter Clarke’s last-minute consolation.

Jay Spearing was an unused substitute as Blackburn conceded a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 away at Huddersfield Town.

In League One, Jermaine Beckford completed 81 minutes for Preston North End as they clinched a 3-0 victory over Swindon Town at Deepdale to remain in the driving seat to secure automatic promotion to the Championship.

The forward hit the crossbar early on in the second half as strike-partner Joe Garner swept home the rebound to clinch his hat-trick and seal the points for the Lilywhites heading into next weekend’s season finale.

Elsewhere in the division, Rob Hall came off the bench in 72nd minute for third-placed MK Dons as they won 3-2 away at Rochdale to stay within a point of Preston.

Sanmi Odelusi was also a 63rd minute substitute for Coventry City as they lost 3-1 at home to Crewe Alexandra – leaving their League One survival hopes in the balance.

Meanwhile, Medo Kamara and Andy Kellett could both in action over the next two days with Maccabi Haifa travelling to Ironi Kiryat Shmona on Monday night and Manchester United Under-21s taking on Fulham at Craven Cottage on Tuesday night.
