Loan watch: Tom Eaves nets first Bury goal

Rob Hall also makes MK Dons debut as eight on-loan Whites feature for respective clubs

Tom Eaves scored his first goal for Bury since joining the Shakers on loan last month as they lost 2-1 to Morecambe on Easter Monday.

Taking advantage of a spill from goalkeeper Danny Ward, the forward was on hand to poke home on the line to fire Bury ahead midway through the first half.

Eaves was substituted in the 70th minute as Nicky Adams came on his place as Bury, who also had fellow Whites loanee Rob Holding on the bench, looked to see out the match.

However, late goals from Padraig Amond and Paul Mullin saw Morecambe turn the game on its head as they left Gigg Lane with all three points.

In the Championship, Niall Maher came off the bench for recently-relegated Blackpool as they drew 1-1 at home to Reading.

After Grant Hall injured himself scoring an own goal to level the scores moments after the restart, Maher came on in his place after a short delay to make his own return from injury.

Dropping down to League One, Jermaine Beckford won a penalty for Preston North End as they won 3-0 away at Bradford City.

After a goalless first half, the forward was brought down by Stephen Darby seconds after the restart. Paul Gallagher stepped up to take the spot-kick, and although Ben Williams was able to keep out his initial strike, the former Scotland international was able to tuck away the rebound.

Further goals from Daniel Johnson and Chris Humphrey wrapped up the victory for the Lilywhites as they strengthened their position in the automatic promotion places.

Elsewhere in the division, Rob Hall completed 66 minutes for MK Dons as he made his second debut for the club, have re-joined them on loan last month, in their 2-0 victory over Scunthorpe United.

Conor Wilkinson completed 90 minutes for Oldham Athletic as they lost 2-0 away at Crawley Town, while Sanmi Odelusi came on for the final 15 minutes in Coventry City’s 0-0 away draw with Notts County.

In the Conference, Glenn Matthews started for recently-relegated AFC Telford United only to be substituted at half-time because of injury as they won 3-0 away at Southport.

Meanwhile in Israel, Medo Kamara completed 90 minutes for Maccabi Haifa as they won 1-0 against Beitar Jerusalem.
