Injury update: Derik Osede and David Wheater

Defensive pair set for short spell on the sidelines

Derik Osede is set to be out of action for approximately two to three weeks after spraining an ankle during Bolton Wanderers’ pre-season draw against Charlton.

The Spanish defender left the field in the 55th minute of Friday’s game at Macron Stadium.

And a scan has since revealed the former Real Madrid man suffered no serious damage, but he will now face a number of weeks out.

Meanwhile, David Wheater was forced off with a calf strain during Bolton XI’s friendly win at Southport on Saturday afternoon. He faces an approximate ten-day spell on the sidelines.
