Wellington Silva joins Wanderers on loan

Brazilian Under-21 international moves to Macron Stadium from Arsenal

Bolton Wanderers are pleased to confirm the signing of Wellington Silva on a season-long loan deal.

The Brazilian Under-21 international joins the club from Premier League side Arsenal having spent the last five seasons on loan in Spain - enjoying stints with Levante, CD Alcoyano, SD Ponferradina, Real Murcia and UD Almeria. 

Capable of playing as both a winger or a second striker, the 22-year-old started his career in his homeland with Fluminense before officially joining Arsenal in January 2010. 

Prior to that he was a member of the Brazil side that competed in 2009 Under-17s World Cup alongside Neymar and Philippe Coutinho.

Wellington will wear the number 22 jersey for the duration of his stay at Macron Stadium and goes straight into Neil Lennon’s first team squad for Saturday’s home clash with Nottingham Forest.
