Wellington will stand out in the Championship - Arsene Wenger

Arsenal manager backs Bolton's new loan signing to impress at Macron Stadium

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has backed Wellington Silva to impress during his time at Macron Stadium.

The Brazil Under-21s international became the fourth Gunner to join Wanderers on loan in recent seasons earlier this week, following in the footsteps of Jack Wilshere, Ryo Miyaichi and Benik Afobe.

Having seen Wellington spend the last four-and-a-half seasons on loan in Spain, Wenger believes the winger, who Arsenal first took on trial when just 15 back in 2008, is now more than capable of taking the Championship by storm.

“He’s a creative, tricky, quick player,” Wenger told Arsenal.com. “He’s absolutely stunning to watch and I believe Bolton will be surprised by his quality.

“I believe he will do extremely well because he has gained a lot of experience in Spain, he has come back to England and I am confident he will have a big impact in the Championship.”
