Loan watch: Duo make substitute appearances

Jay Spearing and Kaiyne Woolery feature for respective loan sides

Jay Spearing came off the bench for Blackburn Rovers on Tuesday night as Gary Bowyer’s side came from behind to secure a last-minute draw away at Cardiff City.

Replacing the injured Corry Evans in the 52nd minute, Spearing missed a chance to fire Rovers ahead midway through the second half, before Sean Morrison headed Cardiff in front with six minutes left on the clock.

However, Rudy Gestede equalised in the last-minute for Blackburn to earn them a share of the points.

In League One, Kaiyne Woolery played the last 12 minutes for Notts County at Meadow Lane as they lost 2-1 at home to Sheffield United.

Having seen the Magpies fall behind for the second time on the night to a Matt Done goal, Woolery was introduced late on as Notts County unsuccessfully chased a late equaliser. Hayden White was an unused substitute for Shaun Derry’s side.

Meanwhile, Andy Kellett was an unused substitute for Manchester United Under-21s as they drew 0-0 at home to Everton to go top of the Barclays U21 Premier League.
