Local comedian visits club's training ground to make good on Twitter bet

Let the boot see the brush! That was the message of celebrity Bolton Wanderers fan Paddy McGuinness after his recent Twitter post!

Bolton-born McGuinness paid a special visit to the club’s training ground to make good on a promise to clean Emile Heskey’s boots.

The host of ITV’s popular dating programme Take Me Out, McGuinness promised on his official Twitter account to clean Heskey’s boots if he scored on his debut against Blackburn on Boxing Day.

And true to his word and under the close supervision of manager Neil Lennon, McGuinness was on hand on Friday afternoon to clean up Heskey’s boots ahead of the FA Cup tie against Wigan.

McGuinness watched his first Bolton game at Burnden Park in the 1980s and after meeting the manager and Heskey said: "It was one of those moments, as soon as I pressed send I thought 'have I made a mistake there?

“I thought, surely it won't happen and when it did, I was in my car, and my phone was going, with all my mates having a go at me.”
