Tim Ream plays 90 in USA Gold Cup win

Bolton defender in from the off, as USA secure top spot in Group A

Tim Ream played the full 90 minutes for United States as they saw off Haiti in Massachusetts to secure top spot in Group A of the CONCACAF Gold Cup.

The Bolton Wanderers Player of the Year had watched the previous game against Honduras from the bench, but was named in Jurgen Klinsmann’s starting XI on Friday evening.

And it was Clint Dempsey’s goal shortly after the interval that ultimately decide the outcome of the contest.

A 1-1 draw between Honduras and Panama, the USA’s next opponents, means that Ream and co can no longer be toppled from the summit of the group.

Klinsmann’s side will progress to the knockout stages regardless of the result of their final group game against Panama on Monday.
