Tim Ream watches on as USA win Gold Cup opener

Bolton defender an unused substitute during game against Honduras in Texas

Tim Ream watched on from the bench on Tuesday evening as United States kicked off their CONCACAF Gold Cup campaign with victory over Honduras.

The Bolton Wanderers Player of the Year was named amongst the substitutes for the game at the Toyata Stadium in Texas, as Jurgen Klinsmann’s side ran out 2-1 winners.

Goals either side of half time from Clint Dempsey gave USA a two-goal lead, with Honduras pulling one back through Carlos Discua with 20 minutes to play.

The Stars and Stripes are next in action on Friday evening when they face Haiti at the Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts.
