International watch: Neil Danns scores first goals for Guyana

A comprehensive overview of Wanderers' exploits on the international scene in recent weeks

Neil Danns scored his first goals for Guyana as a number of Wanderers players took to the field for their respective nations during the early stages of June.

With the Golden Jaguars having been held to a 2-2 draw in the first leg of their CONCACAF World Cup qualifying tie, Danns scored twice against St Vincent and the Grenadines, but Guyana ultimately came up short at the final whistle in a 4-4 draw as their opponents progressed on away goals.

Closer to home soil, Conor Wilkinson featured in both the Republic of Ireland’s fixtures against their England counterparts – one a training game and the other an international friendly, with the striker completing the first half in each clash.

Unfortunately for the frontman however, he was unable to prevent Noel King's side from slipping to 3-1 and 2-1 defeats respectively.

Finally, Eidur Gudjohnsen was an unused substitute as Iceland moved to the top of Group A in their 2016 European Championship qualifying campaign with a 2-1 victory over the Czech Republic.
