Wanderers assistant manager watches on as Boys in Green secure their place at next summer's European Championships

Steve Walford was celebrating on Monday night as the Republic of Ireland become the latest nation to qualify for Euro 2016.

A member of head coach Martin O'Neill's backroom staff with Ireland, the Wanderers assistant manager watched on as a brace from former Trotter Jonathan Walters saw the Boys in Green secure a 2-0 victory over Bosnia-Herzegovnia at the Aviva Stadium.

The result saw Ireland claim a 3-1 aggregate win to clinch their place at next summer's European Championships in France.
