A note from the Chairman

Ken Anderson addresses the club's supporters in a special column on bwfc.co.uk

As my next programme notes won’t be published until Boxing Day, I would like to write a short note for all fans of Bolton Wanderers Football Club.

I would like to thank all the supporters who attended our Q&A evening earlier this week. It was great to see such a good turnout from a cross section of our fan base.

As I’ve mentioned on several occasions, I believe in open and honest communication with our supporters and where possible I will always endeavour to answer your questions.

I will look to have more sessions like this in the future so that I can keep you informed on all matters concerning your club.

I will also be looking to meet up with various supporters’ groups in the New Year so that we can build up a mutually beneficial relationship.

As we head into the busy festive period, it is always an important time to think of those less fortunate than ourselves.

Therefore, I was heartened to read about David Wheater paying a surprise visit to a family in Bolton to give their son some Christmas presents. Teddy Waring is only ten months’ old but is bravely battling against a brain tumour.

Teddy comes from a family of Wanderers fans. At such a young age he has gone through so much but I’m glad that the club has been able to put a smile on the faces of his family.

Our thoughts and best wishes go to Teddy and his family and we hope to see them at Macron Stadium very soon.

On the pitch, I was delighted to see that one of our home grown stars Josh Vela pick up the Sky Bet League One Goal Of The Month for November for his stunning strike against Millwall.

We seem to be winning quite a few accolades at the moment which indicates the progress we are making.

As this time of year, the games come thick and fast and I would just like to thank you for all your support so far. It really does make a difference to the lads out on the pitch.

On behalf of everybody at the club, I would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and I look forward to seeing you on Boxing Day for our game against Shrewsbury Town.

Ken
