Ben Amos sidelined for between three and six weeks

Goalkeeper set to miss upcoming key period of games

Ben Amos is set to be out of action for between three and six weeks with ankle ligament damage.

Neil Lennon confirmed the news following Bolton’s 1-0 away defeat at Birmingham City on Tuesday evening, during which Paul Rachubka filled the void between the posts.

Amos had previously played the full 90 against QPR at Macron Stadium, with post-match checks revealing an ankle injury.

“We’re expecting him to be out for around three to six weeks,” Lennon told bwfc.co.uk. “He has ligament damage in his ankle.

“We had looked at bringing in an emergency loan deal but we were rebuffed on that front.

“Paul Rachubka stepped in tonight and did very well. He made a great save in the second half and looked assured and sure footed.”
