U18s: Bolton 0-0 Sheffield Wednesday

Young Whites end losing run with stalemate against Owls

Bolton Wanderers Under-18s managed to end their five-game losing as they drew with Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.

In a game of few chances in difficult conditions at Lostock, the young Whites created the better opportunities but were unable to make a breakthrough against the Owls.

Tyrell Palmer was denied by the Wednesday goalkeeper when one-on-one, while Enock Likoy-Elumba failed to convert from six yards following a good cross into the box, but that was the closest Bolton came to breaking the deadlock.

After the game, Under-18s coach David Lee told bwfc.co.uk; "It was a competitive game in poor, windy conditions but a fair result overall.

"After last week, I was pleased with the players' reaction. They showed a great desire to keep a clean sheet, as well as creating a couple of good goalscoring chances.

"All week the players have taken on board the demands of the training sessions, to defend and keep clean sheets.

"It was a good response and another good learning curve."
