Pre-season schedule confirmed

First team set to face Mansfield, Tranmere, Crewe, Burnley and Preston ahead of upcoming season

Bolton Wanderers can confirm the club’s pre-season arrangements and fixtures ahead of the 2016/17 campaign.

The Trotters will play their opening game of pre-season against Atherton Collieries (July 2). After that game, preliminary plans for a training camp and fixtures abroad have then been put in place, with further details to be confirmed in due course.

Away games against Mansfield Town (July 16), Tranmere Rovers (July 19) - part of a testimonial for Warwick Rimmer - and Crewe Alexandra (July 22) will then follow.

The first team’s pre-season schedule will then conclude with back-to-back home games against Lancashire duo Burnley (July 26) and Preston North End (July 30) ahead of the opening Sky Bet League One fixture on August 6.

Meanwhile, a Bolton Wanderers XI will form part of the travelling squad for the game at Atherton Collieries on July 2. Further away trips to Radcliffe Borough (July 9), Stafford Rangers (July 12), Ashton United (July 15), Chester (July 20), York City (July 23), Chorley (July 27) and Ramsbottom United (August 2) will then follow.
