A note from the Chairman

Chairman Ken Anderson offers his thoughts to the club's supporters

October was certainly an enjoyable month for everybody associated with the club and it was concluded with an emphatic win against Port Vale last weekend. It also saw us register six consecutive wins in all competitions for the first time in 40 years.

Given the efforts of the manager and players inside the opening months of the season, we knew that we would eventually run riot against a side and although at the final whistle it was just the three goals, the performance of the team as a whole was most pleasing.

It was also fantastic to see Zach Clough win the PFA Fans' October Player of the Month award for Sky Bet League One - a thoroughly deserved accolade.

Heading into the weekend meanwhile, everybody at the club is looking forward to competing in the Emirates FA Cup.

Although Bolton Wanderers have not been involved this early on in the competition in over two decades, given the romance of the FA Cup, the game against Grimsby Town is one that we will all be relishing.

It is also the first home match we have had since the launch of our half season ticket campaign at the start of the week.

As has been reiterated by the manager and players in recent months, your backing has been integral to the team’s success during the opening stages of the season, particularly at home.

The fact that we currently have around 10,000 season ticket holders already on the books at Macron Stadium is a testament to the fantastic supporters that we have at this football club.

With that in mind, we have remained dedicated to ensuring that live football is accessible to all who support Bolton Wanderers and that has been reflected in the prices for the second half of the 2016/17 season.

Adult prices start from just over £13 a game for the final 12 matches, while we continue to reach out to our younger supporters with the option to watch matches here for just over £4.

Tickets can be purchased by visiting Bolton Central in person, doing so online at the club’s ticketing website, www.eticketing.co.uk/bwfc or phoning 0844 871 2932.

Elsewhere, there is also an exciting event coming up at the stadium next weekend in the Premier Suite with a number of notable acts including Brit award winner Lemar visiting us as part of the Bolton Weekender, while tickets for the Big Bolton Pantomime starring Keith Chegwin and Roxanne Pallett are proving to be very popular.

In other business related matters, Danny Clarke continues to lead the International Football Programme at the club which recently welcomed Germany’s Under-20 squad to our facilities.

This project is proving to be an excellent revenue stream for the business and is strengthening our brand, not just locally and nationally, but on the international scene which will prove invaluable in the years to come.

I'd also like to pass on my congratulations to both our Under-18s and ladies side who have both enjoyed success of late.

Nicky Spooner's team did a superb job by progressing in the FA Youth Cup against Blackpool on Wednesday evening, while our ladies are currently top of their respective division.

All of these achievements are hugely pleasing and will hopefully be the perfect platform for future success across the board at Bolton Wanderers.

Thank you as always for your continued support of the club.

Kind regards,

Ken
