A note from the Chairman

As taken from his notes in this weekend's matchday programme, Ken Anderson addresses the club's supporters

It seems safe to say that we were dealt a blow earlier this week with the news that Mark Howard will be sidelined for the next few months following on from the injury he suffered against Peterborough United last weekend.

The game itself was a difficult one for the manager and the players and ultimately at the final whistle it was not the result that we wanted, but I am sure that the squad will put it behind them immediately with this weekend's match against Millwall an exciting prospect for us all.

Our form at Macron Stadium so far this season has been impressive, with just the one defeat in the league here inside the opening months of the campaign.

That has undoubtedly been down in no small part to the fantastic support that the team receives from you, the supporters, and long may it continue.

With that in mind, I’d like to remind all of you about our special Festive Fiver initiative that will take place for our game against Gillingham next month.

As we have said on numerous occasions, we want to ensure that live football here at Macron Stadium is accessible to all and with tickets for this match costing just £5 across the board, we hope that we will be able to have a strong crowd present for our last home match before Christmas.

We know that this time of year is a testing one financially for supporters and with that in mind, I hope that people who perhaps don’t attend regularly will come along and hopefully enjoy themselves enough to come back throughout the remainder of the season.

Our half season tickets are also still available to purchase for fans who wish to join us as we look to continue competing in the upper echelons of the table heading in 2017.

For more information, please visit Bolton Central in person or phone 0844 871 2932 where the staff will be happy to advise you all.

I was also very pleased to see us drawn at home once again in the second round of the Emirates FA Cup and also at the fact that we will pit our wits against one of our Sky Bet League One rivals in Sheffield United.

It will certainly be an entertaining clash and one that everybody at the club is relishing giving our history in the famous competition.

Many of you meanwhile will have read recently about reported speculation regarding possible investment at the football club.

This story has no substance to it and like many clubs, we may see further articles in the media in respect of investment and takeovers.

Please be assured if in the future there is anything to report on this subject, I will ensure that our supporters are made aware at the earliest opportunity.

Finally, I’d like to take this opportunity to remind you all about the upcoming evening with myself in the Platinum Suite at Macron Stadium this Wednesday 23 November from 7pm until 8pm.

As I’ve said previously, I want to be as open as possible with you, the supporters, and by holding an evening such as this, I hope to be able to build on and strengthen my relationship with you all.

I look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible.

Kind regards,

Ken
