U18s: Bolton 2-1 Millwall

Young Whites unbeaten start continues with home victory over the Lions

Wanderers’ Under-18s continued their unbeaten start to the campaign with a 2-1 victory over Millwall on Saturday morning.

The club’s youngsters started well in the game and took the lead thanks to a powerful Ryan White strike which left the Lions goalkeeper with no chance.

A defensive error saw Millwall equalise, but Bolton clinched the win thanks a Matthew Fearnley penalty after Harry Brockbank had been brought down in the box.

Speaking following the game, coach Nicky Spooner said, “In the first half we controlled the game as we looked to play out from the back and control possession.

"Our first goal was really well-worked, although Millwall equalised through a defensive mistake, the boys again shown a great attitude to win late in the game.”
