A note from the Chairman

The finishing line this season has never been closer, but the job is not yet done and we need everybody associated with the football club to stick together this week as we look to earn our place back in the Sky Bet Championship next Sunday afternoon.

Saturday was a day where the ups and downs of football well and truly came to the fore, with the elation of David Wheater's seemingly decisive goal being contrasted with the disappointment of learning about Fleetwood's late winner at Gillingham.

No matter however, our destiny - as it has been for much of the campaign - is firmly in our hands and with a two-point gap on Fleetwood, the players know what they have to do next weekend.

There will be no second chances - it is now or never and it was clear to see from the sheer delirium and passion from both the fans and the players yesterday that we have what it takes to pull ourselves over that line.

You, the supporters, were as superb as you have been all season long at Vale Park. At times, the noise made by you in the away end gave us all goosebumps - it is clear to see just how much promotion would mean to you all and the players.

This is a very special football club and it was a shame that Fleetwood's goal came in such dramatic circumstances - had their match at Gillingham finished all square, I would be sat here today writing about our promotion success.

It is important however that nobody dwells on what could have been and I know that the manager will be saying exactly the same to the team - we go again next Sunday in our one remaining cup final and know that we are firmly in the driving seat.

It is in our hands and I know that coupled with your backing, we can achieve our unified dream next Sunday afternoon.

I hope to see as many of you as possible down at Macron Stadium next week as well to roar the team onto getting the result we need and hopefully following the final whistle, it will be a huge celebration for everybody.

Your backing, especially at home games of late, has been incredible - to have a gate of over 23,000 for Chesterfield and over 18,000 against Bury in the third tier of English football is unbelievable and is a testament to your superb support of your football club.

It would be incredible if we could pack out Macron Stadium once again next Sunday and create a carnival atmosphere ahead of what promises to be an exciting game of football.

Tickets can be bought online by CLICKING HERE, by phoning 0844 871 2932 or by visiting Bolton Central in person. Please get down to the ground if you can and cheer the team on in what is now our biggest game of the season.

You can also show your support with replica home and away shirts now down to £9.99, although availability is limited. Let's pack out the Macron and create a wall of white to show your support for the team - visit Bolton Central or www.bwfcdirect.co.uk to get yours.

Following the game next Sunday meanwhile, we will be holding our End of Season Awards Dinner - a night which will hopefully be one of celebration.

Places are still available to purchase, but are limited. To join us, please CLICK HERE or phone our Corporate Sales team on 01204 673 761.

This week will undoubtedly feel like a very long one, but we hope that the wait will be worth it come 2pm on Sunday.

Let's be loud, let's be proud and let's get behind the team for this final push over the line.

Kind regards,

Ken
