Simon Hooper will officiate Wanderers' Sky Bet Championship opener against Leeds United on Sunday.
Taking charge of his tenth Whites game in total, the Wiltshire-based official last oversaw a Bolton game when the Trotters drew 0-0 at home to Bury towards the end of last season.
Predominantly overseeing Sky Bet Championship fixtures last season, Mr Hooper ran the rule over 43 games including the Sky Bet League One Play-Off Final, handing out 149 yellow cards and three red cards.
Daniel Robathan and Philip Dermott will run the line, while Tony Harrington will be the fourth official.
