U18s: Sheffield United 2-2 Bolton

Young Whites pick up a point away against their Blades counterparts

Wanderers' Under-18s drew 2-2 with their Sheffield United counterparts on Saturday afternoon.

Nicky Spooner's side dominated the game from the off, playing some fast attacking football early doors.

They came close to breaking the deadlock too, with Jack Earing playing in Alex Samizadeh whose effort flew narrowly wide.

Not to be deterred however, Bolton did take the lead through Samizadeh who collected a cross from Ryan White and slotted home.

A lead which remained intact at the break, the hosts were awarded a penalty kick shortly after the restart which James Aspinall saved, but the assistant referee deemed that the ball had crossed the line.

Bolton continued to push for a winner however and were looked to have been rewarded with five minutes to go as Shakeel Jones-Griffiths scored from a superb counter attack.

The Blades rallied inside the closing stages though and eventually drew level in injury time to earn a share of the spoils.
