Chris Long can't wait to get started with Wanderers

Forward hungry for success after completing loan move from Burnley

Chris Long is determined to make his mark at Macron Stadium after joining Wanderers on loan until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old could be in line to make his Whites debut in familiar surroundings this weekend as Bolton take on one of his former loan clubs, MK Dons.

And having won promotion last season with parent club Burnley, Long is longing for more of the same this year with the Trotters.

"I’m absolutely buzzing and can’t wait to get going," the forward revealed in an exclusive interview with bwfc.co.uk. "I actually made my professional debut for MK Dons so it’ll be good to go back and make my debut for Bolton at Stadium MK.

"I offer pace, my movement in behind and I like scoring goals as well. Hopefully I can help the team. I can play anywhere across that front four.

"I’ve played in a lot of positions and scored goals in all of them. I can’t wait to get going.

"Bolton are flying. It was a blip on Saturday but we’ll be wanting to get back on track on Saturday and are aiming for promotion.

"I played at Macron Stadium once for Burnley back in pre-season and again for Fleetwood Town when on loan there earlier in the year.

"It’s a class stadium, it’s a Premier League stadium and I’m looking forward to playing here."

Long continued: “I met the gaffer last week and he spoke very well. He’s a very good manager and has done very well in cup competitions before with Bradford. I can’t wait to work for him.

"I know quite a few of the lads too. I played with Tom [Thorpe] at the U20 World Cup. I know Jay [Spearing], he’s a Liverpool lad, and I played against Zach [Clough] a few times in the youth ranks when I was at Everton.

"I also know George Newell as well from Everton, he’s a good lad, and I went to school with Jeff King.

"They’ve taken me in well. It’s my first day today in training and I enjoyed it. They’re all good lads and I look forward to playing with them.

"I experienced promotion last season with Burnley. It was a valuable experience with a great bunch of lads and great players as well.

"Hopefully I can bring that to this team and we can win promotion as well."
