Preview: Five talking points ahead of Arbroath v Bolton Wanderers

As Wanderers make the journey north of the border for their second pre-season fixture, bwfc.co.uk highlights five talking points ahead of Tuesday’s game.

1. Young guns get the chance to impress

Speaking to bwfc.co.uk earlier today, Phil Parkinson confirmed that he is set to field a predominantly youth team against Arbroath.

After impressing against Chorley, Harry Brockbank, Ryan White, Jeff King, Cole Lonsdale and Connor Hall are all set to start against the Scottish outfit.

2. First game in Scotland

After Saturday’s win over Chorley, the Whites regrouped at Macron Stadium on Sunday afternoon before travelling to their St Andrews base.

After being put through their paces on both Monday and Tuesday, Parkinson’s side will rest their legs this afternoon before travelling to Gayfield for the first Scottish fixture.

On Friday meanwhile, Wanderers travel to Dens Park to face Scottish Premier League outfit, Dundee FC.

3. Team bonding/new signings

Saturday saw debuts for Will Buckley, Mark Little and Stephen Darby - all of which looked impressive in their first game in a Bolton shirt.

Down the right hand side, both Little and Buckley combined well creating a number of chances, while Darby assisted Ryan White’s goal.

Travelling away for a week will no doubt bring the trio closer to their new teammates both on and off the field.

4. Notice for travelling Wanderers’ fans

If you’re one of the committed fans making the journey to Arbroath or perhaps you’re a Scottish Trotter, there is no need to book your ticket online and pay in advance.

You will be able to pay at the gate with no tickets required, allowing you to have full access to stand or terrace seating.

The prices are as follows:

  • Adults - £10
  • OAP - £5
  • Children (16) - £5
  • Parent and Child - £12
