#FixtureReleaseDay: Wanderers' 2016/17 midweek fixtures

Following the release of the 2017/18 Sky Bet EFL Championship fixtures, bwfc.co.uk looks ahead at all of Wanderers' midweek clashes.

Whether it’s travelling to the other side of the country or a night fixture under the lights at Macron Stadium, midweek fixtures are a staple piece in the English football calendar.

Wanderers' first-midweek tie of the season comes against Crewe Alexandra in the Carabao Cup as Phil Parkinson's side make the journey to Gresty Road the week commencing Monday 7 August.

Bolton then take on Birmingham City at St Andrews a week later in their maiden midweek league fixture of the campaign on Tuesday 15 August.

The Whites play their first midweek game at Macron Stadium on Tuesday 12 September, as they welcome Sheffield United to BL6, before making the journey to Bristol City just two weeks later on Tuesday 26 September.

Five weeks later, the Trotters will travel to the Stadium of Light to face relegated Sunderland on Tuesday 31 October before hosting Reading on Tuesday 21 November.

The reverse fixtures against both Sunderland and Reading will also fall in midweek, with Sunderland guests to Macron Stadium on Tuesday 20 February, while our trip to the Madejski Stadium takes place on Tuesday 6 March.

Wanderers then face off against Millwall for their final scheduled midweek match of the season, taking place at Macron Stadium on Tuesday 10 April.
