Hotel Bar and Lounge gets new name

Bolton Wanderers supporters have had their say and the overwhelming choice for the brand new bar and lounge at Bolton Whites Hotel will reflect the predominant colour that is synonymous with the club.

‘The Whites Bar and Lounge’ will open its doors to the public in July after the hotel undergoes a major refurbishment of its drinking and dining facilities.

Wanderers fans were offered the opportunity to submit suggestions and the most popular choice was to incorporate the colour most associated with the club throughout its history.

BWFC Chairman Ken Anderson said: “We had a huge amount of suggestions from our fan base, most of which paid homage to our long and proud history. Great players of our past featured among the choices and some historical moments were also considered but the most popular choice proved to be ‘The Whites Bar and Lounge’.

“I’d like to thank everybody who took the time to send in their suggestions and I look forward to welcoming all our fans and customers to The Whites Bar and Lounge when it opens in July.”

The refurbished bar and dining areas have been redesigned with specialist outfitters CMJ, who are working closely with Heathcote & Co, Patricia Anderson and Suzanne Speak. The design will have a modern and contemporary look and will have copper and stone finishes to ensure a warm and homely feel.

New LCD televisions will be in place to ensure top sporting action and up to the minute world news coverage will be available in a modern and relaxing environment.

As well as stocking new beers and hand-pulled ales, the redefined areas will also integrate a coffee bar, lounge seating areas with a variety of meals and snacks available.

The restaurant will be the centrepiece of the new look area and will serve great Dukesmoor steaks and aim to provide the best burger in Bolton, as well as selling its signature mouth-watering and succulent Tomahawk steaks for two.

The Dukesmoor beef used in the dishes will be locally sourced and is reared to a unique specification, dry aged for 14 days in sealed chillers, deboned and aged for a further 14 days to deliver consistent flavour, succulence and tenderness.

The restaurant will also serve simple and traditional all-time favourites in addition to natural and fresh dishes suitable for vegans and vegetarians as well as gluten-free options.

Meals will be completed by a theatrical dessert which will not only be entertaining to watch but also tantalisingly delicious. An experience to savour and not to be missed!

Work has already commenced and will be completed in two phases to ensure minimum disruption to residents and visitors with a launch event planned in July.
