A note from the Chairman

Tonight, we will be backed by over 3,000 travelling fans for our local derby against Preston North End.

It’s certainly a game we’ve all been looking forward to, especially after the international break which seems to have lasted for longer than normal.

Thank you to everybody who will be making the short journey tonight and I understand that our supporters will also be able to pay on the gate so that number will most probably increase.

We have the opportunity of continuing our positive momentum this evening and given that the other teams are playing over the weekend we have the chance of lifting ourselves out of the bottom three.

Granted, this may only be temporary, but what a statement it will be. Local derbies are often tough encounters where passions rise high and bragging rights are there for the taking, and I expect nothing different at Deepdale.

We follow this up in very quick succession with a home tie against Reading and we hope to see as many of you at Macron Stadium to get behind the boys.

Remember, tickets for this game are priced at just £15 for adults and £7 for concessions and can be purchased online by clicking here.

We’ve also got our Festive Bundle on tickets for our home matches in December, which allows you to purchase tickets for the games against Barnsley, Burton Albion and Cardiff City for one set price which will save you up to £27 off the total cost.

And of course, we’ve just announced our half season ticket deal for the final 11 home games of the season, which starts from the home game against Hull City on New Year’s Day.

If you’d like to try some of our award-winning hospitality, then give our Sales Team a call on 01204 673761. For the Burton Albion game on Saturday 16 December, we are running a very special Christmas-themed package. Click here for more details.

There is a strong feel-good factor around the club at the moment, and together we can all play our roles in helping Phil and the team climb up the table.

The togetherness in the squad at present has only been reiterated with the comments from Karl Henry and Ben Alnwick in the media this week, with the latter speaking about how much he is enjoying his football whilst working with our goalkeeping coach Lee Butler while the former has spoken of how a positive result at Preston tonight could be arguably season shaping and that the belief is there amongst the squad to pick up maximum points.

Everybody is singing from the same hymn sheet and that unity across the board, from you, our incredible supporters, to the team itself, will be crucial this season.

You can also help support the club by purchasing items from Bolton Central. With Christmas on the horizon, now is the ideal time to purchase gifts for that special Bolton Wanderers fan in your life.

Take a look at what we’ve got on offer by visiting the online store. We’ve also reduced our promotion celebration book from last season to £7.99 which will make an ideal stocking filler.

Earlier in the week meanwhile, I was delighted to learn of our successes at the Northwest Football Awards. David Wheater was recognised for his phenomenal campaign last season by picking up the League One Player of the Year Award, while the Bolton Wanderers Community Trust were acknowledged for their excellent Positive Chances scheme by winning the Community Initiative of the Year accolade. Well done to everybody concerned!

Finally, I just wanted to remind you all about the events we’ve got coming up in the hotel over Christmas. They have some excellent family events over the festive period including the Aladdin Panto starring Bolton’s very own Stu Francis, Sooty’s Birthday Bake Off and a New Year’s Eve Family Extravaganza.

For more information, please give them a call on 01204 673610 or follow them on Twitter @BoltonWhitesHtl.

I hope you all enjoy the game tonight and as always let’s be loud, let’s be proud and let’s get behind the team.

Ken
