Voting open for August's KIA Player of the Month award

5 September 2017

Voting is now open for Bolton Wanderers' KIA Player of the Month award for August.

The Whites enjoyed a mixed opening month to the 2017/18 season following their return to the Sky Bet Championship, progressing to the third round of the Carabao Cup but starting slowly in the league.

Unfortunte to lose 3-2 at Macron Stadium in front of the Sky cameras in their league opener against Leeds United, Bolton fought out successive draws on the road away at Millwall (1-1) and Birmingham City (0-0), before ending the month with back-to-back defeats against Derby County and Hull City.

Enjoying better fortunes in the cup, the Trotters recorded cup victories over Crewe Alexandra (1-2) and Sheffield Wednesday (3-2) to set up a round three tie away at West Ham United, with summer loan signing Adam Armstrong wasting no time in opening his account for the club, finding the back of the net in both ties.

Fellow forwards Adam Le Fondre and Gary Madine were also off the mark quickly, both scoring on the opening day of the season against Leeds with the latter again on the scoresheet against Derby.

Alongside Armstrong, fellow close-season arrivals Will Buckley, Reece Burke, Josh Cullen, Stephen Darby, Mark Little, Antonee Robinson and Aaron Wilbraham all made their Wanderers debuts throughout the month.

Elsewhere, Mark Beevers, Cullen, Dorian Dervite, Mark Howard, Jem Karacan, Madine and Andrew Taylor started all five of the Whites' matches in August, with Burke, Armstrong and Le Fondre also featuring in each outing.

Fans are able to register their vote by voting below. The winner of the prize draw will be picked at random and notified via email. The club's Player of the Month will be announced in due course.
