Loan watch: Jeff King is hat-trick hero for FC United

Jeff King scored a hat-trick in his last game for FC United of Manchester as they convincingly beat Bradford Park Avenue 4-0 on Saturday.

The midfielder netted an outstanding free-kick to break the deadlock on the stroke of half-time, before doubling his tally just before the hour mark. He completed his treble with a coolly taken penalty before being brought off in the 80th minute.

Ben Amos, meanwhile, kept a clean sheet to help Charlton Athletic see off Plymouth Argyle 2-0, boosting their Sky Bet League One play-off chances under caretaker manager Lee Bowyer.

Elsewhere in the Evo-Stik South, Jake Turner played the full 90 as Frickley Athletic secured their third victory in a row, winning 1-2 at Romulus.

Frickley are next in action tomorrow night against Swallownest in the Sheffield and Hallamshire Senior Cup quarter-finals, with the England youth international expected to start in between the sticks.
