TOP TEN WINS: Sheffield United 0-1 Wanderers

After Wanderers secured their place in the Sky Bet Championship for another season, bwfc.co.uk are counting down the Whites' ten best victories from the 2017/18 campaign.

We're down to the final three in our countdown with Bolton's solitary away win of the season against Sheffield United finishing third.

The Trotters finished 2017 in style when they travelled to Sheffield United in the midst of a busy but productive festive period.

Without a win on the road in the second tier since April 2015, Gary Madine's strike saw Wanderers pick up maximum points on the road for the first time in 2017/18 as they ended that long wait for an elusive away victory.

Bouncing back from a Boxing Day defeat at Middlesbrough, Phil Parkinson's men followed up their trip to Bramall Lane with a narrow home win over Hull City, ensuring they took nine points from four games over the festive period in what was a decisive run of fixtures for the Whites looking back come the end of the season.

HOW BWFC.CO.UK SAW IT...

"Gary Madine's first half strike proved to be enough as Bolton Wanderers picked up a priceless away victory against Sheffield United.

It was a determined and resolute display by Phil Parkinson’s men who played with pride and passion throughout the contest as they ensured they ended 2017 on a high."

HOW THE MANAGER SAW IT...

"It was so important to get that away win under our belts. We've been so close to it at times this season and sometimes when you don't get it, it can be a psychological factor.

It's definitely a weight off our shoulders but nobody was going to hand it to us - we had to work hard to get it and put in a very disciplined and committed performance which we showed today.

Our concentration levels and mentality were exactly where we needed them to be and we are thoroughly pleased with the result."
