TOP TEN WINS: Wanderers 1-0 Hull City

After Wanderers secured their place in the Sky Bet Championship for another season, bwfc.co.uk are counting down the Whites' ten best victories from the 2017/18 campaign.

Coming in in seventh place, Bolton's 1-0 victory over Hull City on New Year's Day!

Having claimed their first away win of the season last time out at Sheffield United, the Trotters opened 2018 in style when they welcomed the Tigers to Macron Stadium.

Gary Madine's first half free-kick was the difference on the day as Wanderers made it back-to-back wins and clean sheets, having picked up nine points from four outings over a productive festive period, to leapfrog Hull and climb out of the Sky Bet Championship bottom three!

HOW BWFC.CO.UK SAW IT...

"Gary Madine's ninth goal of the campaign was enough for Wanderers to pick up all three points against Hull City and start 2018 with a bang on New Year's Day.

The big striker hit the decisive effort with 20 minutes on the clock, with his beautifully crafted free-kick leaving Allan McGregor with no hope.

And come full time, his goal was the difference as Bolton ran out winners."

HOW THE MANAGER SAW IT...

"We’d spoken about the importance of back-to-back wins and having got that first away league win under our belts against Sheffield United at the weekend, backing that up today against Hull City was so, so crucial.

We had a bit of adversity to deal with when losing Karl and Darren, but we didn’t let it affect us.

The lads who came on were excellent and it was very much a gritty performance today. It had to be as Hull have got some good players, but we dug deep and I am very, very pleased with the win."
